Wait for it! 2009 will see two March Fourth! releases. the first will be the band's deubt full-length, CHRISTMAS ON EARTH REVISITED, which is completed. the album is named for an unrealized pornographic screenplay by child filmmaker and 60s scenester Barbara Rubin. set in a fairy city in Ireland, it called for the participation of Jean Genet, Walt Disney and the Beatles, among others. the second release will be a DVD and triple 7" vinyl only collection of seven non-album A sides, tentatively titled THE LONG ISLAND SOUND. the dvd will feature a promotional video for every song. each single will be made available for individual download on iTunes in the next months, starting with 'My Favorite Color is FaBuLoUS' b/w 'I Just Don't Know'
the second March Fourth! album proper, THE MARCH FOURTH! ...AND WHAT ARMY?,' promises to abandon traditional song structure altogether and will be completely impossible to listen to in an iPod shuffle. it should be completed early next year.
exciting news! we recently shot a video for "My Favorite Color is FaBuLoUS." the video was written, directed and produced by our friend Luke Reibstein, mastermind behind Purple Pictures (http://purple-pictures.blogspot.com). many thanks to everyone involved - we had a blast, and the video looks amazing so far!
MY FAVORITE COLOR IS FABULOUS was recorded in October 2007, mixed and engineered by Rob Stevens at Mother West, NYC and mastered by Tom Rogers and Charles Newman at the Electric Living Room, Los Angeles.
CHRISTMAS ON EARTH CONTINUED was recorded in November 2007 on Josh's 8-track. French horn performed by Parker Pope. The March Fourth! MySpace
