Tom Lenk has been quoted as saying, “Tom Lenk is one of the greatest actor, writer, lovers of our time.” Althought he humbly denies it, insiders say that he does in fact believe it to be true.
He is best known for his portrayal of “Andrew” on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. The San Francisco Examiner named Tom one of the top ten scene stealers on television and E! online named him the breakout Male Star and TV Guide placed him on their coveted Emmy wishlist. Tom’s other television credits include Six Feet Under, House M.D., Nip/Tuck, How I Met Your Mother, Eli Stone, Samantha Who?, Do Not Disturb, , Rick and Steve, and Reno 911!. Feature film work includes Transformers, Date Movie, The Number 23, and the upcoming releases My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend (opposite Alyssa Milano) and the Buffy Creator Joss Whedon/Cloverfield Writer Drew Goddard’s latest collaboration Cabin in the Woods.
He originated the role of “Franz” in the smash hit 80’s rock musical experience, Rock of Ages,” in Los Angeles. Tom also received critical acclaim in the West Coast premiere of Amy and David Sedaris’ The Book of Liz, which ran to capacity for over a year and became L.A.’s longest running comedy. Other L.A. theater credits include Ann E. Wrecksick (directed by ROA Director Kristin Hanggi), There’s Something Living in the House that Jack Built - opposite Gregory Jbara (The Blank Theater), The Young Playwright’s festival (The Blank Theater ’05 –’09). Tom and Patty: Unitarded (Comedy Central Stage), The Pajama Game (Reprise). Tom performs regurlarly at many alternative comedy shows including The Thrilling Adventure and Supernatural Hour, Mortified ( L.A. and S.F.), Strangely Attractive Sketch Comedy. He also performs monthly at L.A.’s Cabaret phenomenon Upright Cabaret.
Constantly churning out new original works for the Los Angeles Comedy Scene, Tom’s play, Save Me From My Sister, ran to rave reviews at the Hudson Backstage Theater. He has also performed/written numerous solo comedy shows including Internet-Semi Superstar, Will You Be My Special Friend? and Tom Lenk’s Last Minute Show which ran at the Comedy Central Stage, ACME and most recently at Don’t Tell Mama’s. And he is set to run his current Solo show in March, Date and Location TBA!
Tom is a comedy force to be reckoned with. His on-camera charisma is blogged about to this day and is the foundation for some of the dirtiest fan-fiction ever to be written about on the world wide web. His promotional tours and public appearances have taken him across the planet: England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Australia, Oakland and even the Pochonos. These appearances and subsuquent performances have left audiences, many barely capable of understanding English, wanting more…much more. Tom Lenk homepage
